Medical Reasons Which Require the Use of Ultra Voice

Besides having the most advanced features of any electrolarynx, there are a number of medical reasons which indicate you should be using the Ultra Voice Plus. These reasons have been summarized below.


A. The electrolarynx may not be suitable due to the following conditions:

post surgical swelling makes it difficult to achieve placement for sound transmission.
stiffness or scarring in the tissue results in reduced sound transmission.
skin irritated by use of the electrolarynx.
arthritis makes holding the arm at the neck for extended periods of time difficult or painful.
fibrosis from radiation reduces the sound transmission.
coordination problems make it hard to find consistent placement for sound production.
